Jake Lloyd, whose full name is Jacob Christopher Lloyd, is a one-time Carmel, Indiana resident who hit the big-time as a very young actor. Born in 1989 in Fort Collins, Colorado, Jake Lloyd subsequently moved to Indiana, where he graduated from Carmel High School, putting his name on the list of famous Carmel people and Hoosiers in the news. (Carmel is a suburb just north of Indianapolis.) Presently, Lloyd is living in Chicago and working on a major in filmography and videography at the Columbia College.
As a child actor, Jake Lloyd collected a number of impressive appearances for his resume. Having parents in show biz certainly didn’t hurt, but in the end, actors have to do their auditions alone.
In 1996, at the tender age of seven, he landed his very first film was Unhook the Stars, a comedic drama directed by Nick Cassavetes, starring Tom Proctor, Gena Rowlands and Marisa Tomei.
A big break came right on the heels of Unhook the Stars, when Lloyd was cast the next year in Jingle All the Way. He played a minor leading role opposite Arnold Schwarzenneger.
That same year, Lloyd appeared in a made-for-TV movie called Appollo 11, which was nominated for a Primetime emmy. In 1998, the young actor landed a part in another TV movie, called Host.

The casting directors tested thousands of boys for the important role, from all over the world for three years.
Following that successful portrayal, Lloyd participated as a voice actor in the making of several important Star Wars video games.
By 2001, at the age of only eleven, Lloyd took part in his last film appearance to date, a movie about hydroplane racing called Madison, which was not released until 2005.
In between his busy filming schedule, Jake Lloyd found time to play the role of Jimmy Sweet in several episodes of television’s hit series, ER, and five episodes of The Pretender.
Still young and still talented, Jake Lloyd is taking some time off from his acting career to get a degree under his belt. If his future performance resembles his past, he will undoubtedly come out swinging.
