#CarmelIN — Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana is a serene park operated by Hamilton County Parks & Recreation. It’s a great place to head when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But even quiet respites can surprise us sometimes. Between the park’s two matching clocktowers is The Centerpiece, which will be the location for what might be the last chance for you to take in an outdoor music concert before the weather becomes Indiana-unpredictable.
On Sunday, September 28, Stella Luna and the Satellites will perform at The Centerpiece from 5:00-7:00pm. There is no charge for this event. Stella Luna, a 5-member band, is headlined by singer Morgan Jenniges. The lead singer and fellow musicians blend rock, pop, country, R&B, reggae, and folk music for their own blend of high energy entertainment.
The Centerpiece is an amphitheater with built-in seating in the form of large, decorative concrete slabs, which means there is no need to bring chairs with you to enjoy September 28’s concert. You may want to bring a blanket to provide a little cushion. Concert goers are welcome to bring food and drink, but keep in mind that Hamilton County Parks & Rec rules prohibit alcohol in its locations, except by permit.
When landowners Jesse and Beulah Cox donated the land for Coxhall Gardens in 1999, they hoped it would be “an oasis in a sea of homes.” Maybe this final concert of the year will be an oasis of relaxation in a sea of busyness in your week.
