Petite Chou is a bistro-style restaurant in Clay Terrace, a spinoff of the popular Cafe Patachou. But while Patachou is a little more casual, Petite Chou has a classy, French-inspired style. Maybe it’s the “champagne bar” part that makes it feel so fancy. It actually felt like a little much for the girls’ night I was there for.
The champagne and cocktail list is phenomenal. Petite Chou features classic cocktails like the sidecar and gimlet, and a full champagne bar. It was a lot of fun for a girls’ night out, but I like it even better for a date night.
You’ll find the perfect blend of fancy restaurant and affordable dining. That’s not something you run across often.
The food is just as unique.
Named by Travel and Leisure as one of the best French restaurants in the U.S., you can choose between bouillabaise, cassoulet, and crepes. I had a burger, because I’m classy like that. It was clearly a fancy, French burger featuring brie, caramelized leeks and sautéed mushrooms, served with a side of frites.
I ordered mine on gluten free bread, which is also available for a variety of breakfast and lunch options. Or brunch, if you prefer — with a fabulous champagne cocktail on the side. Because that’s the fancy, French way or something like that.
