Carmel Community Players: Bringing the Theatre to Carmel

The Carmel Community Players (CCP) is a live theater group founded in 1993 and dedicated to offering excellent Indianapolis performance art created by both amateurs and professionals. Carmel, Indiana is an upscale suburb of Indianapolis; the Carmel Community Players pull their audience from the neighboring metropolis and their local area.

The Carmel Community Players produce everything from “living room mysteries” to dramas, comedies, and full-scale musicals. The organization provides countless opportunities for the community to get involved in the endlessly fascinating experience of live theater.

Formerly located in the new Carmel Arts and Design District, the Carmel Community Players recently relocated to Clay Terrace, an Indianapolis shopping mall located in Carmel. At the new Carmel Community Playhouse, the Players put on five full-length shows a year; the 2008 season, for example, featured Blithe Spirit and two musicals, Willy Wonka and Little Women.

The Carmel Community Players are one of ten theatrical companies in Indy and its environs that comprise the membership of Encore Association, Inc., which grants awards for artistic merit in all aspects of community theater. CCP has won more than its fair share.

A most excellent resource for aspiring actors in Carmel, Carmel Community Players is an organization that supports Indianapolis performing arts by providing opportunities for the community to participate in and enjoy theatre. This important piece of the Carmel arts scene was founded in 1993 and is located in the Carmel Arts & Design District of downtown Carmel.

Through various productions as well as acting and directing classes, the troupe provides the community of Carmel and nearby areas with an opportunity to work and participate in the theatre environment.
