Carmel Symphony Orchestra: Volunteers Making Beautiful Music

Not to be outdone by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Carmel, Indiana is home to its own symphony orchestra, which has grown into an organization that both entertains and educates the community through Carmel music. The Carmel Symphony Orchestra was founded as a volunteer community orchestra in 1976. Today it is comprised of 70 professional and volunteer musicians.

Playing at churches and high schools around the Indianapolis area, like Carmel High School, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra presents annual subscription concerts, special Carmel events, and music education opportunities to the Carmel community in the form of competitions and scholarship awards. In addition, the orchestra performs free for the community each year at CarmelFest and the Penrod Art Fair.
