Monon Greenway: Hiking, Biking, and Rollerblading in Carmel

Monon Greenway in summer in Carmel, IndianaThe Monon Greenway is a great destination for hiking, biking, and trail walking around Carmel, Indiana. This 5.2-mile rail-trail connects with the Monon Trail in Indianapolis for a total of 15.2 miles of asphalt trail with connections and side paths that lead to many great Carmel things to do.

The Monon Greenway ends in the north at 146th Street and in the south at 96th Street. Access to Carmel parks, playgrounds, Carmel restaurants, and Carmel shopping are easily attainable along the trail, which is highly acclaimed for its overall design. The nearby Carmel Cyclery makes it easy for visitors who have left their bikes behind to enjoy the convenience of touring the area via the Monon with bicycle rentals. Considered a major thoroughfare for the area, speed limits are posted along the trail.

The Monon Greenway is managed by Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is open year round. Parking is available south of Main Street and at the 96th Street trailhead.
