Carmel, Indiana is a growing, prosperous suburb of Indiana state capital Indianapolis, located in the northern outskirts of the city. It is a community that has an excellent reputation as a good place to grow up and raise a family. Carmel schools are some of the best in the nation, and Carmel children are never at a loss for things to do; there are tons of Carmel events and Carmel attractions centered around the children of the community. Though this may be a family-oriented community, that doesn’t mean there’s no Carmel nightlife. Rather, Carmel has a vibrant nightlife scene, filled with lots of great Carmel things to do.
The first source of Carmel nightlife is probably the wealth of cool bars that dot the area. Carmel is now home to the recently designed Carmel Arts and Design District, somewhat of a little brother to Broad Ripple Village, an Indianapolis cultural district. The Arts and Design District is full of cutting edge Indianapolis art galleries, arts oriented Carmel businesses, and a few sweet bars. For example, the Old Town Tavern is the oldest bar in Carmel and also known as the “best dive bar” in the town, a distinction that Old Town Tavern relishes.
Other Carmel bars that are hubs for nightlife include Fox and Hound Pub, a traditional English pub with a casual but elegant atmosphere; Woody’s Library, a classic bar/restaurant in the Carmel area that is divided up into an elegant dining area on one floor and a cozy bar on the other; Muldoon’s Irish Pub, an establishment similar to Claddagh’s in Indianapolis; and Bar Louie, a trendy haven for live music. Carmel bars are an essential part of Carmel nightlife.

One of the most important things about a night out is that you keep your strength up. This can be done at one of several great Carmel restaurants, either before your night out or after. Luckily, Carmel plays host to lots of great restaurants that are the perfect start or end to a night out on the town. Abuelo’s is a traditional Mexican venue that is known as one of the best Mexican chains in the United States; Amber Indian Restaurant is a vegetarian’s heaven, with all sorts of tantalizing meatless dishes for sale; and Bazbeaux Pizza Restaurant, a popular Carmel pizza restaurant that also has two other locations in Indianapolis.
One of the most famous Carmel restaurants is Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream, known for its smooth, delicious ice cream and massive, legendary hamburgers that take a champion to finish. Bub’s even has an entrance leading from the Monon Trail. Carmel restaurants can help you refuel after a night of Carmel nightlife.

Though Carmel has lots of attractions and things to do for denizens of the night, one of the best things about living in Carmel is its proximity to the Circle City. Residents of Carmel can get the full Indy experience; they’re only a short drive away from the lights and sounds of downtown Indianapolis. Indianapolis nightlife is both varied and wildly entertaining: find good deals and good friends at Indianapolis bars, hear cutting edge Indianapolis music at an Indianapolis music venue like The Vogue and the Murat Centre, or take in an edge of your seat Indianapolis sports game at Lucas Oil Stadium or Conseco Fieldhouse. Indianapolis cultural districts like Mass Ave and Broad Ripple Village provide similar entertainment thrills to downtown Carmel, just on a grander scope. Here, visitors can take in the breadth of the Indianapolis art scene, go see a show at an Indianapolis theater, or simply indulge in the benefits of Indianapolis society. A trip to Indianapolis ia great option for Carmel nightlife.

Carmel is not exactly a nightlife oriented town. The town is a growing tourist colony, rife with fun and educational attractions, events, and things to do. Carmel restaurants are excellent places to slake the appetite you might have built up dancing and socializing. And if Carmel suddenly seems too small for your ambitious partying goals, Indianapolis is close enough to make all your fantasies come true. Carmel nightlife has all the necessary ingredients for a fun evening out with your friends.
